The Reverend Kimberly Roy has been in leadership in some capacity in The United Church of Canada for over 25 years.
She strongly believes reconciliation is not just about what you think or say, it’s about how you participate.
Kimberly is Métis and holds Citizenship in her home province of Alberta and is recognized in the Métis homeland, Manitoba. She resides on the historic Marlboro Métis settlement west of Edmonton where 5 generations of her family have been born and raised. As she continues to live in both worlds, she offers a unique perspective embracing both settler and Indigenous traditions.
Kimberly believes we are all on the journey of reconciliation together and is open and honest about the teachings she can share from her ancestors, elders, and kookums.
She is very open in saying she does not have all the answers, she does not speak for anyone other than herself and there are always voices we are not hearing from.
Currently, Kimberly is appointed to the Prairie to Pine Candidacy Board, the National Indigenous Council, the General Council Executive and the task group reviewing the Moderator and General Secretary’s rolls.
