Responsibilities

Andrea provides support for the region by encouraging and connecting communities of faith as they adapt and experiment in changing times. She also works along with other staff, to enourage and support ministry personnel.

Andrea works with churches north of Highway 407.

Andrea Allan (she/her) Experience and Biography

Rev. Andrea Allan is a passionate United Church Minister with experience in congregational ministry spanning across two provinces and three pastoral charges, along with numerous church governance roles since her ordination in 2010 with Hamilton Conference. Andrea has served in single and multi-point charges in rural and urban settings, worked in interfaith and ecumenical partnerships, and has been privileged to work with a Candidate as their educational supervisor. She is passionate about empowering communities to discern their unique vision and has led collaborative partnerships to help congregations grow sustainable ministries.

An advocate for accessibility and justice, Andrea is committed to removing barriers to full participation for marginalised communities, leading initiatives to foster equity and belonging in faith spaces. She brings strategic vision, compassionate care, and collaboration to her work at Shining Waters Regional Council. She is (very slowly) pursuing a Doctorate of Ministry at St. Stephen’s College, focusing on ADHD and spirituality—a specialisation that informs her approach to building inclusive faith communities.

Andrea lives in Stratford with her partner, Jeremy, and their daughter Gillian, and they all yearn to spend more time at the family camp on Lake Penage near Sudbury.
