Fairlawn Avenue United Church is allying with International Day of Pink for the third consecutive year to bring the Day of Pink 2025 to Fairlawn on Saturday, April 5 at 2:00pm.
Under the theme of “Re-Emergence”, this year’s event marks the 35th anniversary of the word “Two Spirit”, introduces the world’s FIRST Two-Spirit Pride Flag, and honours the actions of 2SLGBTQIA+ activists advocating for inclusion, respect, and reconciliation.
2025 also marks the 10th anniversary of release of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission Final Report, and the 94 Calls to Action. This year also denotes the 5th Anniversary of the Final Report of the National Inquiry into Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls and Two-Spirit Peoples, and the 231 Calls for Justice. Together, these moments highlight the resilience and re-emergence of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community.
Featured speakers include Elder John R Sylliboy and drag performer Chelazon Leroux.
