Lenten Book Study

Everyone is invited to a 6-week Lenten book study. It will be held on Zoom weekly on Mondays from 4:15-5:45pm, beginning on Monday, February 19th. It will run until March 25.

We will be discussing The Last Week by Marcus J. Borg and John Dominic Crossan. Using Mark’s gospel as a guide, they present a day-by-day account of Jesus’ final week of life. They intentionally play on the term «passion», opposing Jesus’ passion for the Justice of God, a fair share for all, against the familiar emphasis on his «suffering» (Passion Week). The book sets the events of the week into the political and cultural context of the time; this realism should inspire insight and lively discussion.
