It’s time for Shining Waters Regional Council’s fall regional meeting, and that means it’s time to become familiar with the proposed budget so that there is an opportunity to seek clarification with any questions and make notes in preparation for the regional meeting on Saturday, November 13. Link to the report is above in PDF format, you may wish to have access to the proposed budget as you watch the video. A recording of the November 10th town hall meeting where the budget was discussed in advance of the regional meeting is available upon request by email to swrc@united-church.ca

Questions We’ve Received

Thank you for an excellent presentation of the 2020 Actuals and the Budgets for 2021 to 2026. The numbers seem to make sense at this point but I think there is a missing piece of information to assist in driving the progression through the year. I would find it very helpful to have the Actuals for 2021 to date to see how we are tracking to budget. to the end of September would be great as that would be three-quarters of the year. It is known that the start up cost for any organization could prove unusual for the first number of years and this has been reflected in the 2021 Budget when compared to the next five years.
Receiving the Financial Report as at September would be appreciated.

Statements to end of August are not yet complete. We just received salary numbers last week and doubt they will be complete before the meeting next week.
