Expression of Interest Form

Ad Hoc Strategic Planning Committee

illustration of white hands raised over a green blue stary sky

Shining Waters Regional Council is inviting expressions of interest for 3–5 people who would like to serve on an Ad Hoc Strategic Planning Committee. This committee will help the regional council develop a strategic plan that reflects our shared vision and aligns with the General Council’s plan, Toward 2035.

Members of the committee will work together to shape and recommend a strategic plan for the region. The committee will report regularly to the regional Executive as the work unfolds. An interim chair will convene the first meeting, and at that meeting the committee will choose its ongoing chair.

We are hoping to gather a small group of people who feel connected to the vision of Shining Waters Regional Council as contained in the Regional Policy (PDF – 3 pages) and with Toward 2035.  Experience facilitating strategic planning processes—within the Church or in other settings—would be very helpful.

Committee members should be comfortable meeting online and open to the possibility of occasional in-person gatherings within the region, though most of the work will take place online. Familiarity with the structure of The United Church of Canada and the relationship between the community of faith, regional councils, and the General Council will also be valuable. Experience serving at the regional level—whether on the Executive, a commission or committee, or as a regional representative from your community of faith—would be an asset.

If this opportunity speaks to you, please complete the expression of interest form by Friday, March 27.
