Some find inspiration in the ancient teaching that “in crisis lies opportunity.” But living in the midst of multiple crises and ongoing turmoil often leads to exhaustion, loss of meaning, disengagement and even withdrawal. Our edges are frayed, seemingly beyond repair. It can be difficult to remember our original sense of calling, of who we are and why we do the work that we do.
This is an invitation to spend a weekend in the peaceful setting of the Crieff Hills Retreat Centre in Puslinch, Ontario. As we emerge from winter and welcome the first signs of spring, we will consider how to reconnect “soul and role,” to borrow Parker Palmer’s phrasing. The weekend will be structured to give ample time for both rest and reflection, in solitude and with others, indoors as well as outside in the beautiful surroundings, trusting that each participant will receive what they most need from our gathering together.
