DESCRIPTION:For millennia the Winter Solstice — falling this year on December 21\, 2022 — has been celebrated around the world. The word “solstice” is rooted in Latin and means “sun standing still.” At this time we invite you to join us to mark the coming of the Winter Solstice\, a time of transition when the light returns. \nCome\, find the light on the darkest night. \nAll are welcomed to gather at Islington United Church on December 19 for quiet meditation in the Sanctuary\, led by James Aitchison\, at 7:00 pm. \nFeel free to arrive a few minutes early to get settled in. We will finish by 8:00 pm\, allowing some time to digest our experience and share a bit if we like. \nEnter through the Stewart East Hall doors (rear parking lot) or through the Chapel door entrance (front parking lot). \nNo experience or registration is required. Feel free to invite friends and family. Although masks are no longer mandatory\, you are encouraged to wear one if you prefer.

DESCRIPTION:Summer Music Camp is an amazing\, two-week music camp that runs from Monday to Friday\, August 8 to 12 and August 15 to 19 at Islington United Church\, 25 Burnhamthorpe Road\, Toronto\, Ontario. The camp offers an early childhood music experience for children aged 5 to 7 years\, and either vocal or instrumental (woodwinds\, brass or percussion) opportunities for those aged 8 to 18 years. \nFor campers\, the early-bird rate is $450 until July 1\, 2022. After that\, the regular rate of $500 applies. For LITs\, the program rate is $200. If you have multiple children/youth in the same family\, please inquire about our special family rates.
