DESCRIPTION:GALA RECEPTION\n5:30 – 8:30 pm\, Wed Nov 6\, 2024\nSt. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church\, 73 Simcoe St\, in Toronto\n$100 per person ($30 for students) \nRegister for the GALA here: https://bit.ly/ECUTFallGala2024 \nThe evening begins with drinks and hors d’oeuvres at 5:30 p.m.\, with music\, speakers\, and a silent auction.\n(Ticket includes entrance\, a beverage of your choice\, and food. Additional beverages available for purchase) \nWe’d be honoured by your presence at this gala event to:\n· Support our current ministry with students\n· Celebrate the legacy of the Rev. Ralph Carl Wushke\, chaplain from 2004-2018\n· Launch our two-year $200\,000 fundraising campaign to secure the future of inclusive and progressive campus ministry at U of T.\nYour participation means the world to the Chaplaincy! \nRev. Daniel Cho and Mardi Tindal\, former Moderators of the Presbyterian Church in Canada and the United Church of Canada respectively\, will co-host this festive reception with friends and supporters. \nWe’ll celebrate the legacy of Rev. Ralph Carl Wushke\, who served as Chaplain from 2004 to 2018. Ralph was instrumental in taking the Chaplaincy’s reputation\, visibility\, and circle of supporters to the next level\, and founded the Qu(e)erying Religion and the Grief Support programs\, both of which continue to be cornerstones of the Chaplaincy today. \nWe will also hear from current students about the exciting ministry taking place on campus today\, and have the opportunity to partner with ECUT by supporting our two-year $200\,000 fundraising campaign to secure the Chaplaincy’s future. DESCRIPTION:Join the Ecumenical Chaplaincy at the University of Toronto for an outdoor evening of community and celebration! \nFeatured speaker is The Rev. Dr. Bob Faris\, Moderator Elect of the General Assembly of The Presbyterian Church in Canada and Co-Convenor of the Rainbow Communion. The Presbyterian Connection describes Bob: “As a gay man\, Bob has experienced the harm done to people who identify as LGBTQI2+ in the church. He has sought to live with integrity\, while calling the church to change its doctrine and practice that has diminished and harmed God’s beloved LGBTQI2+ children.” Bob has a passion for inclusion and God’s call to justice. \nThe Calvin/Deer Park choir will share a beautiful song\, All of Who I Am\, by Amanda Udis-Kessler\, a composer who specializes in music and lyrics for liberal/progressive religious people and communities. \nRSVP/registration at www.bit.ly/ECUTPGP2022 This is a free event\, but ECUT kindly suggests a donation to the chaplaincy’s ministry on campus. \nBring a friend and join us for a lovely evening together.
