The story follows Amahl\, a poor\, disabled shepherd boy\, and his widowed mother. One night\, they are visited by three kings—Melchior\, Gaspar\, and Balthazar—on their journey to present gifts to the Christ child. Despite their poverty\, Amahl and his mother offer the kings hospitality. The opera beautifully captures themes of faith\, generosity\, and the transformative power of love.

What looks like falling down can be experienced as ”falling upward” in a spiritual\, psychological sense. Rohr argues that in the second half of life we really start to understand what life is about \, who we are\, and what we can give to ourselves and the world to be fully realized people. But few know this path is possible in our modern world that values youth above all else. Join Stephen as we discuss this book together. If you enjoyed the discussions about Michael Singer’s book in the fall\, you will likely find this very interesting\, too. DESCRIPTION:Following up from the excellent podcasts that Rev. Roberta Howey has produced on the subject of medical assistance in dying (MAID)\, Rev. Dr. Bacon will be joining Rev. Howey in a ministry forum on the above date. We will be joined by our guest the Reverend Doctor Anne Simmons who brings a wealth of experience in the area of death\, dying and the management of grief. Our plan is to have three brief presentations followed by a Q & A session. \nIn 2016 the Canadian Parliament passed legislation as Bill C-14: An Act to amend the Criminal Code and to make elated amendments to other Acts (Medical assistance in dying). This legislation now guides how such medical assistance can be provided when eligibility criteria and conditions are met. It has increasing implications for spiritual care practitioners and a learning curve that necessarily gives rise to personal discernment as well as associated caution.
