DESCRIPTION:The invitation is out for everyone – men\, women\, and children of all ages – to join the 2023 World Day of Prayer as we celebrate the theme “I have heard about your faith” based on Ephesians 1: 15-19. The women of Taiwan have prepared the service this year. We are invited to reflect on the changes and challenges faced by this country as the citizens evolve amidst struggles for independence internationally\, as well as the obstacles that women\, in particular\, face at home. Regardless of changes\, women in Taiwan remain somewhat oppressed and encounter many challenges in gender equality both politically and in the labour market. \nThis year it is St James’ turn to host the service for the central Etobicoke area east of Highway 427. After two years of virtual services we once again invite you to participate in an in person service to be held on Friday March 3rd\, 2023 at 1:30 p.m. The service will also be live-streamed. Four area churches are providing leadership in the planning and will be participating in the service: St Gregory Roman Catholic\, St James’ United\, St Matthew’s Anglican and St Philip’s Lutheran. A time of fellowship and refreshments will take place in our Fellowship Hall after the service.

Her music processes riding the waves of mental health\, particularly as it relates to dysregulation\, addiction\, shame\, relational trauma\, and dissociation. Because of this\, she speaks candidly about her lived experience through her music and expressions of artistic identity as an act of destigmatization. \n– \nOur beautiful main hall serves as the perfect backdrop for this concert – donations are welcomed\, and proceeds support the Beach United Church food programs.

DESCRIPTION:Most of us tend to think of the second half of life as largely about getting old\, dealing with health issues\, and letting go of life\, but the thesis of this book is exactly the opposite. What looks like falling down can be experienced as ”falling upward” in a spiritual\, psychological sense. Rohr argues that in the second half of life we really start to understand what life is about \, who we are\, and what we can give to ourselves and the world to be fully realized people. But few know this path is possible in our modern world that values youth above all else. Join Stephen as we discuss this book together. If you enjoyed the discussions about Michael Singer’s book in the fall\, you will likely find this very interesting\, too.
