DESCRIPTION:Rimbala is an evidence-based falls prevention program that uses music as the principle means of intervention. Based on the work of visionary Swiss composer Émile Jaques-Dalcroze\, Rimbala enjoys one of the highest falls prevention results in the world\, with a 54% reduction in falls for community-dwelling seniors. \nOlder adults improve their gait (walking style)\, mobility\, cognitive skills and social intelligence in a relaxed but joyous setting. The improvised music brings fresh neuroplastic experiences that improves the connection between the body and brain in ways that conventional exercise cannot. Alpha is a series of interactive sessions exploring the basics of the Christian faith\, meaning and life. \nEach session looks at a different question\, and is designed to create conversation. There’s no pressure\, no follow-up and no charge; it’s just an open\, informal\, and honest space to explore and discuss life’s big questions together. \nOffered IN-PERSON weekly for 11 weeks\, this course starts on Wednesday September 27\, 2023 from 6:30 pm – 9:00 pm at NBUC \nA light dinner will be served followed by the video and small group discussions. \nVideo.\nThe videos are designed to be engaging and inspire conversation.
