DESCRIPTION:Please join us as we celebrate our Anniversary and support our community.\nProceeds with benefit the Daily Bread Food Bank. \nOn October 3rd\, St. Andrew’s United Church is hosting The Magic of Gratitude and Giving – a night of community\, celebration\, and generosity – to raise critical funds for the Daily Bread Food Bank. The funds raised by St. Andrew’s during this event will be matched during the pre-Thanksgiving Daily Bread Food Bank campaign. \nIncluded will be a fresh 3 course\, homecooked meal\, entertainment by our wonderful Jazz Trio\, guest Superstar Magician Jonah Babins. There will be a silent auction\, items for everyone to choose from\, a raffle and an open bar. \nWe’d love you to join us—and bring along your family and friends! It will be an evening filled with good food\, magic\, gratitude\, and giving.

SUMMARY:Connecting to You Women’s Retreat
DESCRIPTION:Join us in Islington United Church’s Stewart East Hall for our pre-Thanksgiving Connecting to You Women’s Retreat\, Cultivating Gratitude for Enough. \nWe’re meeting on Friday\, Oct. 3\, from 7 to 9 p.m. and Saturday\, Oct. 4\, from 9:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. \nFriday night\, we will explore what it means to be “enough” despite cultural messages. Saturday\, guest speaker Miriam Frey – a Kitchener-Waterloo spiritual director and educator – returns to help us identify how each of our spiritual preferences (mystic\, intellectual\, relational\, or social justice orientation) is “enough”. We will then consider ways to cultivate and connect with our gratitude for being “enough”. \nWe’ll provide a soup lunch on Saturday and gluten-free options will also be available. We’ll also have refreshments and worship\, and lots of time to enjoy community. \nDetails\nRegistration will open on August 27\, 2025\nNo experience or preparation is necessary.\nPlease indicate by September 21 if you need child care.\nBring a pen\, notebook\, and water bottle both days.\nLight refreshments and Saturday’s lunch will be provided. \nCost\n$50.00\nCost should not be a barrier.
