SUMMARY:Godly Play Core Training (And Children's Retreat)
DESCRIPTION:Join us for an incredible opportunity to immerse yourself in Godly Play. The retreat offers programming for children and adults. Adults will participate in a full Godly Play Core Training\, explore play and wondering\, and deepen in understanding of children’s spirituality. Children will hear stories\, experience worship\, play games\, do arts and crafts\, and much more. You are welcome to join this retreat without children\, this option is provided so parents can have the opportunity to join this retreat with ease. \nThis retreat is in 2 parts. The first part October 25-26 and second part November 15-16. We’ll also have refreshments and worship\, and lots of time to enjoy community. No experience or preparation is required to attend the retreat. \nA program fee of $50 is requested during registration. Cost should not be a barrier. SUMMARY:Rise Again! The Songs of Stan Rogers at The Rosedale Centre
DESCRIPTION:Stan Rogers is widely recognized as one of the very finest singer-songwriters that Canada has ever produced\, and while it has been over forty years since he was tragically taken from us\, his music lives on and is being heard around the world. Just over twenty years ago\, Stan’s record producer\, Paul Mills and his widow Ariel Rogers\, were approached by Hugh’s Room about putting together a Stan tribute concert at the club. They put together a group of eight artists who performed a collection of Stan’s wonderful songs. The show was a huge hit with the Hugh’s Room audience to the point where they were asked to make it an annual event. \nThe Stan tribute show became a tradition and has been presented by Hugh’s Room ever since. After a brief hiatus\, Paul and Ariel are delighted to be bringing it to our stage again. The November show features six singers: James Keelaghan\, Treasa Levasseur\, Bill Craig\, Ariel Rogers\, Trevor Mills and Beth Rogers. It also features an all-star back-up band which includes Paul Mills (guitar)\, David Woodhead (bass)\, Tom Leighton (piano and accordion) and Don Reed (fiddle). \nThese will be evenings of magic\, nostalgia and a resounding celebration of Stan Rogers’ outstanding musical legacy.
