The Illumination of the Ordinary World – Sacred Stories – An Explore Spirituality 6-part series lead by Rev. Jean Ward
October 27 @ 7:00 pm - December 2 @ 8:30 pm
An event every week that begins at 7:00 pm on Wednesday, repeating until November 24, 2021
Each Wednesday evening for 6 weeks, we will explore an author and one of their books. You do not have to have read the book in order to participate. Our host, Rev. Jean Ward, will prepare a video for each week where she sets the scene for the portion of the story she will read.
It is often in the ordinariness of our lives that true courage is found and the sacred known.
All the writers below are concerned about actual lived experience and the dislocation we experience from the time we are born. Lives are not easy but hope somehow prevails.
Wednesday 7:00 p.m. – to 8:30 p.m. October 20 through November 24.
Registration is required, and you will receive the Zoom login details via email prior to the first session.
Below are the authors, books, and themes we will explore.
October 20: Ken Haruf, Plainsong – (The Precious Ordinary)
October 27: Marilynne Robinson, Housekeeping – (Lonely Souls)
