Speaker Matthew Stevens (Cultural Coordinator of Mississaugas of Scugog Island) and Award Winning Anishinaabe Dancer Nimkii Osawamick
Wednesday, October 7 – 7 p.m.
Diane Montreuil – talented Metis Artist will teach viewers to make talking sticks in this hands on workshop as she discusses the Indigenous culture understanding of them. (list of supplies will be sent to ticket holders ahead of time)
Wednesday, October 14 – 7 p.m.
Dr. Dan Longboat of the Mohawk Nation, Professor at Trent University and founder of Indigenous Enbrionmentl Science program at Trent will talk about the sacred in human relationships
Wednesday, October 21 – 3 p.m.
Anishinaabe Chef Charles Catchpole will teach participants to create an Indigenous inspired 3 course meal – cook along with the Chef! (list of ingredients will be sent to ticket holders ahead of time)
Closing Speaker
Wednesday, October 28 – 1 p.m.
Jesse Thistle – Award Winning author of, From the Ashes, whose story of a life of poverty, homelessness and addictions which he was able to turn around will be inspiring to youth and adults.
