Mining, Injustice, and Women: Issues for Canadians

November 18, 2019 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Free

Togogos invite you to this social justice event sponsored by the GTA branch of GRAN.
Almost half of the head offices of publicly listed mining operations worldwide are registered in Canada.
Widespread, well-documented abuse and injustice associated with mining have a disproportionately negative impact on the lives of women – particularly in mining communities in sub-Saharan Africa.
Panelists: Rachel Small, Erin Simpson, and Jim Davis. Rachel, Erin and Jim will share their perspectives on Canadian global mining practices, impacts on women and families, and avenues and actions to limit harm and increase corporate accountability.
