Facing Queerphobia
November 24, 2019 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Recent attacks on LGBTQ+ people and communities have shown that queerphobia is alive and well in our society. Join us online on Nov. 24 as we discuss how we can bear faithful witness against anti-LGBTQ+ hatred. Our conversation will kick off with a panel of ministers whose lives and ministries have put them on the front lines of the struggle against queerphobia. We’ll then move into an open discussion about how we, as people of faith, can respond.
Our panelists are:
– Michiko Bown-Kai, ministry intern at East End United Regional Ministry and Co-Chair of Affirm United/S’affirmer Ensemble
– Keith Murray, Affirming Coordinator at Hillhurst United Church
– Jenn Hind-Urquhart, minister at Emmanuel United Church Waterloo
This event is hosted by Shining Waters Regional Council, but all are welcome. Please join us!
This will be a zoom video conference call event. Please see our tips page if you have not used Zoom before: https://shiningwatersregionalcouncil.ca/zoom-video-conferencing/
